With nature at eye level, visitors are literally on the treetop path in Bad Wildbad. The path on the summer mountain runs up to 20 meters above the ground, and after 1,250 meters it winds up to a 40-meter-high observation tower. Here, explorers go funnel-shaped up and down to the highest level, where they can see a 360-degree tour of the entire northern Black Forest and, with good visibility, even to the Alps. The completely barrier-free experience leads visitors along interactive stations, where all sorts of interesting facts about the Black Forest are conveyed in a playful way. These include sensory and experience elements for the local flora and fauna, including capercaillie, blueberries, etc.

ADVENTURE TOUR WITH THE BLACK FOREST GUIDES

If you don’t want to explore the path alone, you can go on an adventure tour together with the Black Forest guides, the certified nature and landscape guides of the nature park. You can get more information about the tours here and on request from the Black Forest treetop path.

The Treetop Path experience can be combined with a ride on the summer mountain railway, for which a combined ticket is available. If you want to travel by car, you can park directly on the Sommerberg or in the city center. The summer mountain railway can be reached in a few minutes’ walk from the parking lots in the city center.
The Sommerberg also offers numerous other attractions: start from here on an e-bike or mountain bike tour or enjoy the wonderful view from the Naturpark-AugenBlick, which is located at the top of the Sommerbergbahn mountain station. Numerous well-marked hiking trails invite you to explore the high plateau around the summer mountain on foot.

All information about the treetop path, admission prices, directions and opening times can be found at www.baumwipfelpfad-schwarzwald.de. Please note that the path and lookout tower are blocked for the safety of visitors depending on the weather conditions.
