In the heart of the Bayer National Park. You can hike in untouched nature at a height of 8 to 25 m above the forest floor. This is made possible by the Tree Top Walk project in the Bavarian Forest National Park. The treetop path was reopened in September 2009.
The entrance area is an entry tower. This also makes it possible to visit the treetop path with the help of an elevator, elderly people, wheelchair users and parents with prams.
The project was realized in harmony with nature and mostly made of wood integrated into the mixed mountain forest. Along the path, didactic and experience-oriented elements give impressions of the pristine forest landscape of the Bavarian Forest.
After you have walked the approx. 1300 m long jetty, a wonderful visitor platform opens up. The impressive observation tower with its 44 meters offers a wonderful panoramic view of the forests and mountains of the Bavarian Forest. To the northeast you can see the summit of the Lusen, to the south the cultural landscape of the Bavarian Forest. The end point of the treetop path is the Hans Eisenmann House with its information center.

Hiking between the trees of the Bavarian Forest National Park – Tree top path in Neuschönau
The treetop path can be divided into two large areas. The first part is the treetop path. The path winds between beech, spruce and pine trees at a height of 8 to 25 m through the mixed mountain forest. The 7 stations along the way are sources of information not only for children, but also for adults. Here you get to know the forest and its inhabitants.
The second section of the treetop path and probably the greater highlight is the tree tower. A unique concept of architectural form was built here. Not only the height of 44 m above the forest floor, but also how the tower was built around three ancient and mighty firs and beech trees up to 38 m high make this structure so impressive. The ramp extends to the summit of the observation tower over a length of 500 m. On the way to the 44 m high viewing platform you will get wonderful insights into the life of the 3 Bavarian Forest Giants. Experience the countless life forms such as mosses, insects, small animals and birds.
